Tim Herman has been making and selling knives since 1978. His early mentors were some of the legends of knifemaking, including Buster Warenski, Jim Hardenbrook, Steve Hoel, Ron Lake, HH Frank, and others. He has come to be known as one of the top makers of investment grade interframe and bolstered folders. Working primarily in ATS-34 and Damasteel damascus, his unique designs generally include fancy carving themes, his own color and/or gold engraving, and natural handle inlays of various mother of pearls, Jade, Lapis, Opals, charoite, and other stones. He has done several collaborations with well known Canadian knifemaker Wolfgang Loerchner, and they are very desireable and sought after pieces. Tim is featured in David Darom's already classic book, "Art and Design in Modern Custom Folding Knives", featuring some of the top makers working today.
