W.D. Pease is a renowned custom knife maker from Ewing, Kentucky who sold his first knife in 1970. Pease is best known for his attention to fine detail in his file work, Damascus steel and embellished engraving. He makes both custom folding knives and fixed blades with quality that is unrivaled. He uses various patterns like fighters, boots, and tantos, and makes folders in both bolstered and interframe designs. He generally uses ATS-34 or commercial damascus from many of the top forgers working today. He uses mostly natural materials for his handles like stag, mother of pearl, various woods, stone, fossil ivory, and many others, and does use some man made materials on occasion. Bill developed his own side release locking mechanism that is featured on many of his folders. W. D. Pease attends many of the trade shows and is a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild.
